Improving the Quality of Life Through Art

Thanks to the generous support of members like you, Gadsden Arts brought the “magic of art” to 18,915 participants last year - sharing the beauty, intrigue, challenge, insight, understanding, emotion, depth of thought, and sense of achievement that art experiences offer. This overview of giving programs throughout the year is designed to help you select your favorite ways to bring art to people through Gadsden Arts. Thank you to all of you who have already renewed memberships or contributed through the 2017 Annual Fund, giving our programming a strong start for again this year!

If you have questions, would like to volunteer, or make a gift once this year to multiple giving programs, contact Grace Robinson (850) 627-5020, email grace@gadsdenarts.org, or stop by Gadsden Arts

Send a check to the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum, 13 N. Madison St. Quincy, FL 32351, or give now by selecting below.

Annual Giving 2017

Improving the quality of life in our community through art.

The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum is entering its 23rd year as a community service organization. It is small in physical size and staff in comparison to many museums, but its buildings, programs, and staff rival the quality of those found anywhere. The source of the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum’s strength is that the organization is truly community-owned and community-driven. Widespread support carries Gadsden Arts forward and comes in the form of participation, membership, monetary contributions, corporate service contributions, volunteer time (2,722 hours last year), expertise, and talent.

Thank you to these generous donors whose investment in the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum's giving programs fuels the work of the organization to improve quality of life through art.

Quincyfest and Porchfest

Saturday October 28, 2017, 11:00am – 6:00pm

Quincy Main Street, Inc. is combining two annual events, the 29th Annual Quincyfest and the 5th Annual Quincy Porchfest and Sketch Crawl to create a day-long festival highlighting the diversity and multi-cultural assets of our town. This celebration of music, art, food as well as history and culture is intended to attract families from a broad geographic area to historic downtown Quincy and the surrounding National Historic District, ultimately contributing to the revitalization efforts and promotion of Quincy as an arts and cultural destination.

The festival will feature as many as 25 musical acts performing on a main stage on the Courthouse Square, as well as on porches of historic homes throughout Quincy’s historic district. There will be music variety to fit every taste from Jazz and Blues, Gospel and Opera, to Classical, Country, Rock and Americana. Large Jazz and Swing bands will perform on the Quincy Music Theater stage. Legacy School of Performing arts will once again sponsor the popular, smaller stage showcasing the talent of young performers in the area. Additionally, area artists will participate in a “Sketch Crawl,” sketching on-site throughout the afternoon. The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum will be open showing the 29th Art in Gadsden exhibition and will offer free art activities for children and families. Arts and crafts and food vendors will round out the festival and visitors will have the opportunity to tour other historic and cultural venues on foot or on Segways.

The festival is a partnership between Quincy Main Street, the City of Quincy, the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum, the Quincy Music Theater, and the Quincy Garden Center.
