
The Gadsden Arts Center brings art appreciation to Gadsden County students through the Tours to Schools programs and offers classes and workshops at the Center for all ages. Internship and volunteer opportunities are also available.

Digital Camera - Intermediate Photoshop LE February 25-March 25, Thursdays 5-7pm Instructor: Ed Babcock members $59/non-members $65 Have you ever wanted to create beautiful artwork from your photographs? ...or wanted to create a picture collage of several of your pictures, then this digital collage class is for you. It will teach you how to create multi-layered/images, photographs, and works of art using your pictures and computer software like Photoshop Elements or Photoshop(CS 2, 3,4). Photographers, artists, scrapbookers, and quilters will love this class. Pre-requisite: Some experience with image software such as Photoshop Elements is essential. A laptop with Photoshop Elements will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own laptop. Intermediate to advanced photo-editing skills will be presented.
Acrylic Painting and Mixed-Media Class March 17-April 28, 2010 (Please register by March 10) Wednesdays 10:30am-1pm Instructor: Natalie Cox members $59/non-members $65 Learn a solid range of acrylic painting and mixed-media basics, including composition, color mixing, layering, and using texture.
Mosaic Workshop February 19-20, Friday and Saturday, 1-4pm (Please register by Feb. 12) Instructor: Natalie Cox members $39/non-members $45 Compose, design and create your own ceramic tile mosaic!

Tuition Scholarships for Art Camp
Full or partial tuition scholarships are awarded to children with sincere interest in attending camp, based on the recommendation of an adult family member or teacher. Please call (850) 875-4866 or visit the Center to apply for a scholarship for your child/student. Availability of scholarships depends upon availability of funds. To contribute a tuition scholarship, call Grace Maloy at (850) 875-4866 or stop by Gadsden Arts. $145 provides one week of full-day camp for one child, $85 provides one week of half-day camp. |

SCHEDULE A TOUR FOR YOUR FAMILY, CLUB OR GROUP! Are you looking for the perfect activity for visiting friends and relatives, a club, church group or children’s group? Docents (tour guides) are available free of charge to lead group tours for four or more visitors. Learn the history of the Center and our unique building, and gain insight into the varied exhibitions of fine art in the galleries.
BATES CHILDRENS GALLERY EXHIBITIONS The Bates Children’s Gallery displays exhibitions of children’s art created by area students under the leadership of school art teachers. Each exhibition is installed with the opening reception scheduled to coincide with the major exhibition openings, allowing students, their families and teachers to be an integral part of these major events. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The GAC Internship Program provides “real world” work and learn experiences for college juniors and seniors, graduate students and recent graduates in the arts management, art education, marketing and graphic design, museum studies, and related areas of study. Internships are offered in the fall, spring and summer to coincide with the academic year.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A REWARDING AND EDUCATIONAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY? Join the Docent Program at the Gadsden Arts Center! No experience is required-we welcome people from all backgrounds. You will meet new people, enrich children's lives and enrich your own understanding of visual arts. Our exhibition tours and school programs have been recognized in several North Florida newspapers as an outstanding way of educating children and adults in Gadsden County and the region. The Gadsden Arts Center is known for its free, educational guided tours that can be custom designed each group visiting. For those groups that are unable to come to the Center, The Art to the Schools, Artists in the Schools and Art for Literacy programs come to the schools and serve hundreds of students each year, countywide.
