OUT OF POCKET II: Small Art Invitational
Sara May Love Gallery
Back by popular demand, Out of Pocket II: a small art invitational is coming to the Gadsden Arts Center October 10 – November 2, 2008. For this exhibition, artists were invited to create works on a smaller than customary scale (not to exceed 25” square two-dimensional art or 8”x 8” x 8” sculpture), resulting in original works of art in a variety of media, subjects and styles that are affordably priced for a broad art collecting audience. The opening reception is on Friday October 10 from 6-9pm and a Gallery Talk at 6:30pm.

Jason Orman Zoe Golloway Exhibit Hall
MFA student at FSU, Jason Orman, presents two video pieces that deal with the concept of masculinity in Hollywood films. While both works reflect upon the 1940s Hollywood Studio culture, one video focuses more on the icons and gestures of male characters, like Humphrey Bogart, while the other “echoes the concept of mass production and the power of the male dominated Hollywood studios”.
